Hong Kong
A day in Hong Kong! When I booked my flight to Africa I saw a flight with a one day layover in Hong Kong, and said why not?! Me and my girl Drea landed around 7am, I didn’t get much sleep on my flight from San Francisco but I was ready to hit the town and site see. We knew at some point we were going to need a spot to take a hot shower and a nap at some point before our flight to the Motherland so we booked a room at the Mira Hotel (a Marriot Bonvoy hotel). It was cute, chic and perfect for a day in Hong Kong. We decided to take the scenic route to the hotel and purchased a bus ticket to ride into the city from Hong Kong International. Everyone knows Hong Kong is a big city for imports and exports so we weren’t surprised to see all the cargo crates lined up headed into the city.

Once we arrived at the Mira Hotel, while freshening up we had to decide where we would hit during our short stay. We started with Chater Garden outside of Central Station, but first we needed to eat. I told Drea we had to have real Dim Dum while in Hong Kong. We found a restaurant recommended to me from a coworker called Dim Dim Sum- Wan Chai! Sooooo, the food was good but shortly after our food arrived to our table I spotted a friendly critter on the wall *yuck*. We had walked 20 minutes to find this restaurant so opted to finish eating but I was super turned off by the bug. We ate pork and shrimp dumplings, noodles, squid and rice balls. Next we took the metro with the locals to Chater Garden which was fun and quick, we didn’t even get lost lol!

Next on the list was Victoria Peak to ride the Tram overlooking the city. Dim Sum was a light meal so we decided to partake in drinks and appetizers at Bubba Gumbs. The tram ride at Victoria Peak was roughly 10 minutes up the hill but it was worth the site and selfies *Wink* . Upon recommendation from our hotel we grabbed drinks at the Ozone uptop of the Ritz Carlton. It is the highest bar in the world at a altitude of 480 meters. Our flight to Zimbabwe was leaving at 12:30am so we grabbed one last meal at the airport before take off. I enjoyed some Korean noodles with spicy chicken that hit the spot and guaranteed me a nice overnight nap on the flight.
